Meet the Interns! - Hannah Davis

We want to extend a warm welcome to our first two Summer 2014 interns! You know they’re keepers when they arrive at 5:30am, sleep for an hour, and join us on a full day jigger removal/shoe drop. They were troopers and slipped right into their roles with unbelievable ease. I cannot wait to see where this summer takes them – they are rockstars already. Today we introduce you to Hannah. She hails from Fort Wayne, Indiana where she goes to school at Indiana Wesleyan University. She has such a fun personality, a great taste in music, and can often be found perusing Pinterest. Shipment of HOPE is Uganda Bound!

Our freight shipment is on its way! Thank you to everyone who sent in shoe uppers to be included in the shipment! We have never been so thankful for so many boxes taking up room in our office in Asheville! It was amazing to see the boxes flood in - with no end in sight. Thank you all for making such a tangible difference for so many in Uganda.  The container is packed and has started the journey to Jinja, Uganda! We cannot wait to have all of those uppers on the ground here and have them on their way to being shoes on the feet of the children in Uganda. These shoes change lives, and without so many of...

It allows us to bring in children from hours outside of Jinja, remove their jiggers, give them medical treatment, teach them preventative steps to protect them in the future, and give them consistent treatment for as long as needed. (BEFORE) Because the Outreach House was...
