Meet the Interns! - Morgan Judge

Our final Summer 2014 intern has arrived! Morgan travelled to Jinja, Uganda just one week ago from Illinois to be our photography intern! She has a true gift and her face lights up when her camera is in her hands. Half His Savings

Guest Contributor Post today from our friend Jen Knapp at Project HOPEFUL Our team had been asked to collect so many different donations for all of the organizations and people we could bless while in Uganda. My husband, Brian and oldest daughter, Sahara and I will be heading West to Fort Portal for a separate 3 day trip from the rest of our team. It is here where we will be exploring the opportunities to learn from and serve alongside Carol Adam's ministry, Y.E.S. [Youth Encouragement Services] Uganda and Manna House. The "Anti-Jigger Movement" - Launch Day

Yesterday was launch day! We gathered at a school in a village just outside of Jinja Town with local leaders, village health teams, and presidential officials.  As we drove onto the school compound, hundreds of children and exciting cheers greeted us. As we got out of the car, little smiles said "You are Welcome" with no need for translation. In true Ugandan fashion, the start time was pushed much farther back than planned - which left more time for play. With a big futbol match and other group games led by our amazing team, jigger removal set up began. "The Anti-Jigger Movement" - A Campaign for #ZEROjiggers

Sole Hope has been given the opportunity to partner with the District of Jinja! The health department of the district is joining us for an Anti-Jigger Movement campaign to combat jiggers in five different villages in the Busoga Region. Jiggers are not often recognized as a problem on the political level, so we are not only excited to be involved in this campaign, but we are glad to see higher levels of government stepping up to address this issue.
